Dick is very at home in lots of genres – Engineering, sustainability and environmental, DIY, cookery, history, game shows and even survival!
2015 saw Dick busy in America filming Survival series ‘Dirty Rotten Survival’ and filming his latest series ‘Escape to the Chateau’ which is due to be transmitted starting Sunday 5 June at 1900hrs on Channel 4.
Dick will also be presenting programme based on the landscapes of Swallows and Amazons which celebrates the opportunities for adventure and having fun in the lakes, the Norfolk Broads and coastal East Anglia due out 29 June on BBC4,
Dick has managed to pop back to Northern Ireland to see his mum and do a spot of filming. He and his son James presented a documentary about HMS Caroline, the last surviving battleship from the battle of Jutland (aired 31st May) which is now open as a visitor attraction in Belfast. In addition, Dick, and a team of volunteers, built a replica of the first aeroplane to fly in Ireland. Harry Ferguson’s plane (yes the tractor man!) was built using skills and materials more available in the Edwardian period and the result will be seen very soon on BBCNI …..
